Tendinitis is a Bummer
I have had to take it easy as I had an episode with my right wrist, could barely grip the needle.
After splinting it and taking it easy, I think it is finally on the mend!
I have some new fabrics and I am ready to get back to sewing.

The Second Drop
was sadly a pitiful 4.
I made the same little fellows as before and used up the last of my striped fabric. I wish I had bought more of it now.

Almost Time for the First Drop
Scheduled for Saturday, January 12, 2013.
I tell you this was a little harder than I thought.
Not the making the toys part, but finding the right toy to make.
The requirements;
Gender-neutral.
Appropriate for all ages.
Small enough that I could mass produce it in a week.
Whew!

Ma'Leaha's Journey
Reagan's Place shared the story of this little angel.
Ma'Leaha is 5.
At 6 months of age she was diagnosed with NF1.
She has been scheduled for her 6th back surgery on February 25, 2013, her 3rd one in a year.
Ma'Leaha could use a little cheering up.
Her mama has set up a P.O. Box for her to receive cards while she is recovering from this surgery. One of her favorite shows is The Powerpuff Girls.

Reagan's Place
This little fighter has lodged a place in my heart.
November 30, 2012 baby Reagan was born at 26 weeks via c section with a 20% chance of survival weighing 1 lb 14.6 ounces, she is 12.9 inches long. Her journey will be long and hard as the NICU fights daily for her.
Her mom spent weeks in the hospital with an abruption and was delivered for severe chorio via an emergency c section.

Be the Change
that was my New Year's Resolution.
Be the change you want to see in the world.
I was just surfing the web and came across this;
A free pattern for a cute, little guy.
But what REALLY grabbed me was this;
But, yes I plan to make a couple of her Monster Ninnis for my March Toy Society drop--and technically, they will not be dropped, but will be sent to the Toy Society as part of their handmade plush donations for the victims of the Australian bush fires. If you are interested in making something to donate--you can learn more about that here. And why wouldn't you, really--I mean, if you can operate a needle and thread? Something so seemingly small can make a big difference for a child who has lost so much.
